Clever Little Clock Customer Comments

NEW!! "The Sig Clock arrived today. The Sig Clock is indeed much more powerful than the original. It must be one of your more successful designs, along with Codename Turquoise - at least these two stand out among those I've tried." - Oct 2010

NEW!! "The improvement in the music I achieved with your clock is at least equal to what the 6 (2 - 16", 2 - 11", 2 - 9") ASC bass traps did for me but in different ways. Without even factoring in the cost variables of 6 traps to one Signature Clever Little Clock I still think the Clock made a greater contribution to what I am hearing." - Oct 2010

NEW!! "Dear Sir, I want to praise your Signature clever clock. I haven't a clue how it works and I have no conceptual basis for how it could work. So when I first heard the difference, especially with my record player, I was almost reduced to superstitious fear. I'm serious. It's a dramatic improvement. Thank you!" - David, Sept 7, 2010

NEW!! "Just wanted to let you know I received both the Top Banana and Signature version of the Clever Little Clock. The Banana came first, and I was rather stunned at the increase in detail and removal of a soft aura that had surrounded the notes but which I had not realized was due to laser reading issues. A very worthwhile tweak! Then the clock came, and richness returned but still with the greater detail and an enhanced sense of reality to voices and instruments. Then I went back to your website and found this was what I was supposed to experience. Truth in advertising! So thanks for two great tweaks. I'm still only beginning to enjoy them as I move through my CD collection and hear the improvement, including things I hadn't made out before owing to the mushed-up sonics. Just great! So thanks for some great products!" - Nov 2009

NEW!! "Received the second (original) clock today, now that's what I'm talking about, the improvements are not subtle, very revealing, especially the voices, seems as though my sound stage opened up even more, the sonics are much clearer and focused (airy is the word). I really didn't think that was possible in my system, especially since it was sounding, oh so good before I got my hands on the clocks and pebbles. I've invested over 150K into this system, it's very difficult to find a tweak that will demonstrate the vast improvements your products have provided thus far." - September 2009

______________

"Product came as advertised. Skeptics beware! This one is truly an amazing and effective tweak, using a double blinded listener controlled trial in my crib's mancave. Highly recommended!" - May 2009

______________

"The 3rd (original) clock added so much emotion to my system I'm afraid that if I add another one I'll have to visit my local store and clean them out of hankies." - August 2008

______________

"I had excellent results with the Clever Lil Watch in the car." - July 2008

______________

"Geoff, I received the Clever Little Watch and found that the distortion of my system was reduced, with better clarity and precision and bass became tighter as well." - June 2008

______________

"Yes, I did that with the first clock - took it out of the house and brought it back inside -- it was like listening to different amps!!!" - March 2008

______________

"I have some good components, not great, hooked up to my TV. Clock provides more clarity, more depth to the sound, less micro movements of the sound images and sharper focus. Don't understand how it works, but thank God you don't have to understand internal combustion to drive a car!" - August 2007

______________

"I just received my second Clever Little Clock. The second clock produced more than double the effects of the first one." - August 2007

______________

"I was only a little skeptical of the Clever Little Clock and Brilliant Pebbles, having experienced the remarkable performance of your Promethean isolation stand. So I had enough confidence to give them a try. The items (one Clever Little Clock, set of 4 Mikro bottles and one XL bottle) are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They transformed our reference system!! Quantum leaps forward! A number of system shortcomings we had written off as room-related have been completely eliminated! the boominess in the bass is entirely gone! In addition, bass response is much deeper... The entire audible spectrum is far "cleaner" and clearer -- haze or sibilance we hadn't been aware of previously has been removed, giving the sound the incblackible illusion of realism. Nothing in my experience compares to the improvements your products make. Before your products, this reference system was more than revealing enough to allow virtually every design change we make in our products audible. I believe that THAT ability of the system has now been enhanced at least a full order of magnitude." - Brad, Revelation Audio Labs, July 2007

"The sound is more open, liquid and organic. Very interesting." - May 2007

______________

"BTW, I bought some clever little clocks from you in Feb. 2007 and I have to say they're fantastic!!!!!" - May 2007

______________

"Much to my surprise, the Lil Clock indeed works, with an improvement in sound I could hardly believe, given the cost of the clock and the mysterious channel through which the clock operates (resonance of the clock vibrating quartz?). Just to try to make sure I was not deluding myself, I performed some A/B blind (and I stress Blind) testing with some friends, including two non-audiophiles, and all of them unambiguously noted the difference in sound. I will be obtaining a second Lil Clock as well as some pebbles. I've recommended the clock to all my audiophile friends." - May 2007

______________

"The Clock really works, and it works MUCH better than I expected. Highly recommended!! - March 2007

______________

"Hi Geoff, after listening to the clock for a couple of days in my analog system, I must say I'm very impressed. While it's not that easy to describe the effects, I like my system a lot better now. I feel that I can listen longer without getting fatigued, and the sound seems to be quite a bit more natural and effortless. It sounds as if the tracking is better -- it's a lot less h-ifi and more like music. So the clock is a keeper!" - Feb 2007

______________

"Hi Geoff, the clocks are amazing! What I'm hearing I can't believe -- so much Life and Airiness. The clocks are more than clever...they're mind-boggling!!" - Dan, Jan 2007

______________

"The little clock has helped my home theater system in so many ways! Everything is SO much more present, with clarity and bottom end to die for!" - Dec 2006

______________

"Well, the Machina Dynamica li'l clock performs as described, and this is in a $500K + system! Even the sound through my Stax speakerphones is improved! Well done, ladies and gentlemen!!" - Robert, Dec 2006

______________

"Geoff, got the clocks and I am speechless!! This is pure magic!! The clocks completely took the edge off voices and instruments (refinement), added space, air, more decay and unbelievable naturalness to the sound. It's like a 3-D virtual reality. A treatment that produces a similar improvement is Frank Tchang's resonators. I have 9 of them here. The addition of your clocks brought this effect to a higher level." - Alex Peychev, APL Hi-Fi, Nov 2006

______________

"I've been listening to my system with the Lil Clock. I have to say there is something going on here. Right now I'm listening to Keb Mo, Suitcase. "Your love" and "The Itch" are amazing !! Also, Buddy Guy Blues Singer. Comparable to Muddy Waters Folk Singer (Guy played rhythm guitar on that one) and it's not a MFSL CD. More, More, sound stage depth and Macro-dynamics! Can't wait to add a second clock. Like you said, it's a perception thing...well, I perceive greatly improved sound." - Jack, Nov 2006

______________

"The clock is crazy good!! Hat's off to you." - Peter, Sept. 2006

______________

"Sir, thanks for this special product. It creates a new sonic experience for me in a way that's hard to explain. The system now sounds more natural and more analog with a soundstage presented in an integrated, holistic way." - Alvin, August 2006

"While basking in an AC-cable-induced state of bliss, I received Geoff Kait's announcement of a new magic accessory. My first Clock arrived a week later. After unwrapping the nondescript plastic timepiece and placing it on a side table, I noticed that the system's midrange performance had become more emphatic. It was as if the Cyber-800 had sprouted a brace of 845 triode tubes in place of its little 6CA7 power tubes. I was so impressed with the Clever Little Clock (CLC) that I ordeblack another one, which yielded additional midrange power and realism. (Recent photos of my room reveal a third clock, but it's there for overkill purposes only.)" - excerpt from A Tweak Too Far by James Saxon, Soundstage A/V, August 2006

______________

"I am very surprised by the Clocks you sent and their efficacy. Their presence in my room has produced a wider and deeper soundstage; also, the sound is sweeter with less grain. When the clocks are removed from the room, the soundstage collapses and the grain reappears." - Dr. Kessell, Australia, July 2006

______________

"Just got them....and they work! Actually, I was listening to music as they were delived...after I unpacked and placed the two clocks, it was unmistakable -- smoother, edginess gone, more solid images. Bass was a bit better too." - Hunsoon Kim, May 2006

______________

"The darn thing worked inside the cardboard box with all the shipping peanuts around it. Really! COOL!" - Regards, C. Kloidt, April 2006

______________

"Hi, I tried your clock this evening for an hour and really was amazed. In fact, I doubted it would work, but I must say it works and works very well - much more air, more precision and more soundstage. My system consists of Dali MS 4 speakers, Musical Fidelity KW 500, upgraded Shanling CD/SACD player, Michell Gyrodec TD, Shunyata Hydra 8 and Audience 24 cords: it is a very, very good system, for the moment in a non-dedicated room as my "auditorium" is not quite finished. I don't know how the clock works - could you explain a little, please; I think I shall buy another one soon and will recommend it to some friends." - Dr. Bertrand Vigneau, Clinique Pasteur, Toulouse, France, March 2006

______________

"I placed the clock on either side of my couch, diagonally facing each speaker and achieved great results!! I did a quick A/B with and without clocks, and 1 vs 2 and I'm sold... All my tests so far have been with CD's and SACD's (Goldmund 39 and a Sony SCD-1). I have a Conrad Johnson Art Ser. II preamp and Premier 12 monoblocks to B&W 802 Nautilus speakers. My next experiment will be with my vinyl setup. I use an SME 20/2 Mk II and Graham 2.2 with a Van den Hul Colibri cartridge. This runs to a ET SU-1 Setup to a Aesthetic IO signature phono stage with volume control. Monoblocks and speakers are same as above. I can't wait to hear the difference the clocks make in pure analog. You made a believer out of this skeptic with the two Lil Clocks!" - Paul B., March 2006

______________

"Follow-up of 2 Feb 2006: Wow, lightning strikes twice!! - I just incorporated a second Clock in my system and the results are spectacular! -- More ambience information along with extremely 3-dimensional images and an incblackible, newfound transparency. Amazing.... like seeing HDTV for the first time." - Michael, Feb 2006

______________

"Your product has significantly improved my sound. Everything is cleaner with much better ambience, space, detail and depth. Vocals and backing vocals come through so effortlessly." - Tim V., Jan 2006

______________

"Hello, Geoff, I've been using your Clever Lil Clock for almost a month, and the effects are quite positive for audio, with a more analog, tube-like sound; also, my video monitors are brighter and the images are "thicker" and "denser." Certainly one of the most effective tweaks I've ever tried and the most metaphysically mysterious by far." - Yumin, Jan 2006

______________

"Hi Geoff - thought I'd let you know I received my clocks and put them in one of my listening rooms. Even though I do have a fairly high spec system: Japanese-made Philips CDM Pro player/BAT VK5/ Coda system 100 amps/Aaron sub/ Mach 1 acoustics speakers/Apogee Rosetta 200 SRC, I can hear improvements in soundstage depth and breadth, resolution, timbre and just plain enjoyment of the music. After all, that's what its about. I don't how it works but it does. As my old aunty used to say, Bravo, Sonny." Jan 2006

"I have a stereo system on one side of the house and a home theater system on the other side. I started off putting the clock in the room with the home theater system where I noticed a better picture - smoother and more film-like. Then I took the clock to the stereo system room - big improvement in the sound!! Then I took the clock back to the home theater system, and when I returned to the stereo system the clock's effects were still present. Also, the clock worked quite well in the car." - Richard Frye, Dec 2005

"Arrived yesterday 11/25/05 -- one of the most amazing things I've yet encounteblack in this crazy hobby!!!" - Perditty, Nov 2005

"Those of you who've read my posts on Audio Asylum over the years know that I'm into tweaks. Sometimes they've worked, sometimes they haven't. But I've been on a big winning streak lately: Extreme SST, Herbie's Grungebuster2, RealityCheck and - perhaps most controversal of all - Machina Dynamica's Magic Pebbles (Brilliant Pebbles) and Clever Little Clock. But let me cut to the chase: the much-maligned Pebbles and Clock work as advertised! -- at least in my system. I'm the furthest thing from a techie, so I have absolutely no clue how these things work, but they do! I auditioned two Clocks and two Large Magic Pebbles. First the Clock. My reference track of late has been "Water of Love" off Dire Strait's impeccably recorded first album. Burned onto a CD-R using George Louis' RealityCheck, this track sounds as good as I've ever heard it. Enter the Clever Little Clocks. After listening to "Water of Love" sans magic timepieces, I placed the Clocks in my listening room -- one on a window sill, the other on my computer desk. Then I replayed "Water of Love." Damned if I didn't hear an immediate improvement -- and I mean an IMPROVEMENT, not just a change. At the beginning of "Water of Love" there's a very low-level percussion section that lasts about 7 seconds; with the Clocks in place, the rhythm/pace of this section was much more discernable... and previously unheard details emerged. Later on, Mark Knopfler's vocals were clearer and weightier, and dynamics were noticeably superior. Again, don't ask me how these wacky things work, but they do! And I'm not imagining it, either. I pride myself on having pretty good ears -- maybe not golden, but at least burnished copper :) -- and I know what I heard. And it was repeatable. - Quint, Nov 2005

"Yes, a VERY clever little clock -- I love the sound!" - Monica, Oct 2005

"I got a chance to evaluate your clock. I think it definitely gives more air and dynamics to my system. I enjoy it enough to more than justify the price. In fact, I just Paypaled on another order for my separate HT system." - Reg Sanders, Oct 2005

______________

"Just wanted to let you know that I've finished evaluating the two Clever Little Clocks you sent. Here's what I found:

- (With only one Clock in the audio system) the Clock seems to open up a remarkable 3-D window into the presentation; inside this 3-D window instruments and voices are larger, smoother and more natural-sounding, with more space between them. And, most importantly for me, everything has more body!.

- Removing the (single) Clock from my home, the 3-D effect virtually collapsed. Although things still sounded quite good, the soundstage had lost that "in-the-room" effect. So it was very satisfying to put the Clock back in the system.

- Adding the second Clock to my video system in the basement, I noticed the same sorts of things on the audio portion; but, oddly enough, the DVD video picture appeablack much more "film-like." And I noticed, as you had hinted, that with both Clocks in the house the remarkable 3-D effect seemed to be magnified in both systems. Very, very intriguing!" - Mike, Oct 2005

"I have a separate surround sound system in the audio room and the Clock has made a difference in both sound and picture color saturation. My audiophile nephew was over on Sunday and had not heard my system since the Pebbles, Magic Rings, ICs and Machina Dynamica's Clever Little Clock were introduced into the system. After I played a familiar CD he has heard many times on my system he was speechless for several minutes. Finally he said that my system before the Machina Dynamica upgrades was one of the best-sounding he'd ever heard, but that now the detail is like the very best solid state, with an overall character that is very tube-like. We spent the next four hours listening and smiling. That "hybrid," golden sound of my system, I am convinced, is due to your products. Once again, BRAVO!... My system, specifically my Digital front end, now sounds better than my Analog front end, which was not the case before the installation of these tweaks from Machina Dynamica... By the way, my Analog front end consists of a Verdier Plantine Turntable, Morch arm and Koetsu cartridge... not too shabby! - Rich, Sept 2005"

"OOOOOOOOh, My! - This is really dramatic! Ok, I will let it freeflow without thinking too much about what I am trying to say..... here goes nothing. What I feel is a realignment of the Sonics within the Space that the musical envelope is trying to occupy in my room. I hear more of everything, but somehow differently. More Space!! - and it seems there is a lingering of the notes that fade into the space - a deep, ambient hall or recording space in the field I never knew existed in all of my familiar recordings. Bass extension is outrageous! -- now I see what I've been missing. One caveat might actually be a blessing: the body of information is wider, deeper and taller - simply "more of it," and this has me turning the volume down a shade from my normal level -- more dynamic range? ...Oh, yeah -- these clocks are staying in the system!" - Brent, Sept 2005

______________

Geoff, what is going on here???! I put the Clock on top of my DVD player (and some other places, too) and... I think I'm loosing it, I don't understand it.... How can a Timex clock with some funny orange dot on the front have any impact whatsoever? BUT IT DOES! It's just amazing, confusing, puzzling... It's like an episode from The X Files -- the difference is, I'm in it!!!" - Thomas, Sept 2005

______________

Geoff, thought I'd let you know I just spent the entire afternoon and evening completely enraptublack by the music my system is now producing." - Michael, Sept 2005
