MACHINA DYNAMICA

Nimbus Sub-Hertz Platform (Special Cherry Version)

Debuts at CES97 in Gallo/Mapleshade Reference System

Machina Dynamica's 6 Degree-of-Freedom, single air-spring design, Nimbus Sub-Hertz Platform debuted at the Winter CES97 in Las Vegas in Gallo Acoustics/Mapleshade Recording Studio's reference system at Alexis Park.

The Nimbus Sub-Hertz Platform was selected to isolate the world-class ($12,000) Nakamichi Dragon CD system, featuring beautiful, matching Transport & DAC units, along with control unit - all isolated on the Nimbus Unipivot. Nakamichi CD system forms a vacuum around the CD transport while a CD is in play, providing another level of vibration isolation. Speakers were Gallo Reference, featuring dual, spun-aluminum spheres and high-voltage membrane tweeters. The amplifier (the large, wedge-shaped object on the floor in front of the Nimbus) was InSound's single-ended, vertical MOSFET design. (Suspended) wiring & cabling by Omega Mikro; ICs employ center conductor thinner than human hair (56 g, something like that). The sound of this system, esp. apparent in the evening, was uncannily life-like, with focus like you wouldn't believe. (Spot the Mpingo disc?)
